New tests for industrial machinery pallets moulding
Repulp S.r.l. has begun to testi on an industrial injection moulding machinery, the pallet production. This machinery is fed by plastic granules from pulper waste.
Heterogeneous plastic from pulper waste, after a mechanical selection, was extrudes, filtered, grained, has been moulded with complex structures.
Achieved this goal, the next steps will be to improve blends in several respects: fluidity of pulper waste plastics, resilience and hardness when plastic will be solid.
Life-Ecopulplast project, trough Repulp S.r.l., spin-off of Selene S.p.A., begins to exist as industrial reality.
Progetto Repulp Tree-tower
Repulp ha commissionato a Tree Tower, spin-off della scuola d’eccellenza IMT Alti Studi, guidata dal Prof. Paggi di svolgere uno studio di Marketing in cui verranno studiate non solo la promozione, la distribuzione e la valorizzazione dei prodotti in essere ed in corso di sviluppo, ma anche quali sono i possibili mercati aggredibili per nuovi prodotti in plastica riciclata che devono ancora essere creati.
Repulp, oltre a continuare a sviluppare il pallet, vuole cimentarsi in nuovi prodotti che possano garantire la massimizzazione del riciclo delle plastiche.
Nel mese di Luglio saranno consegnati i risultati riguardanti gli studi sulle plastiche mentre nel mese di Ottobre sara’ consegnato a Repulp uno studio sui segmenti di mercato su cui concentrare lo sviluppo commerciale ed industriale in atto.
research project WITH Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa
During Life-Ecopulplast Projects, Selene S.p.A. and Versalis, Eni chemical division, have started a research project together withthe Prof. Fabio Iraldo, full professor of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa.
The research study consisted of analyzing environmental impacts in the total lifecycle of two type of pallet, one made of wood and the other one made of recycling plastics from pulper waste.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was carried out by Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology as established by European Commission by recommendation 2013/179/UE
of 9 April 2013 on the use of common methods to measure and communicate the life cycle environmental performance of products and organizations.
Furthermore, concerning the plastic pallet the aim of this study was to identify improvements from environmental point of view.
The LCA study demonstrated that, under certain hypothesis of use and lifespan, the plastic pallet has good environmental performance.
Repulp S.r.l. has started a new project in coloperation with the Department of Engineering of University of Salerno
Research objectives are the development of recycled polymers blendsThe staff is formed by members of Chemical Engineering Department leaded by Prof. Luciano Di Maio. These polymers come from pulper waste plastic. These different blends will be used for plastic pallet production.
Furthermore, the the research will define the optimal 110 X 130 pallet design and geometries. The performances will be optimized in accordance to the features of the developed blends previously mentioned., This part will be executed by Mechanical Engineering Department leaded by Prof. Nicola Cappetti.
The delivery of the project is expected by 15th June 2019
